Mentorship

The OGEC Mentorship Program is a core support initiative designed to guide, motivate, and empower Afghan girls and women across all OGEC educational pathways. In an environment where students face severe educational restrictions, isolation, and uncertainty, mentorship plays a critical role in ensuring academic continuity, emotional resilience, and long-term success.

The program connects students with qualified mentors—educators, healthcare professionals, and trained volunteers—who provide structured academic guidance, career advice, and personal encouragement. Mentorship is available to students enrolled in the OGEC School for Girls (Grades 7–12), Kankoor Preparation Project, KOMU-E (Kabul Online Medical University in Exile), and Postgraduate Licensing Programs.

Key Objectives

How the Program Works

One-to-one and group mentorship sessions

Regular check-ins and progress tracking

Confidential, culturally sensitive, and safeguarded interactions

Coordination with OGEC academic and psychosocial support teams

All mentorship activities operate under OGEC’s governance, safeguarding, and confidentiality standards, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for students and mentors alike.

The OGEC Mentorship Program ensures that education is not delivered in isolation. By pairing learning with human connection and guidance, OGEC helps students remain focused, resilient, and prepared for future academic and professional opportunities.

Education builds knowledge. Mentorship builds direction, confidence, and hope.
